Kibaha Residents: Support Government Development Initiatives

Want to see real progress in your community? That’s exactly what the residents of Kibaha are experiencing, and the call to action is clear: support development! Dr. Rodgers Shemwelekwa, the Executive Director of Kibaha Municipal Council, recently urged residents to actively participate in the government’s development projects. He emphasized that these initiatives are directly aimed at improving their lives and contributing to the nation’s advancement. But here’s where it gets interesting: this call to action came after a comprehensive tour of various projects in the Picha ya Ndege Ward.

Accompanied by key department heads, Dr. Shemwelekwa inspected a total of eight projects, representing a substantial investment. These projects, valued at an impressive 1.6 billion Tanzanian shillings, were funded through a combination of the Municipal Council’s own resources and government contributions.

So, what exactly is this money being spent on? The projects include:

  • Street road maintenance, costing 30 million shillings.
  • The construction of business centers on Kwambonde Street, a significant investment of 562.5 million shillings.
  • The completion of a classroom at Lulanzi Primary School (8 million shillings) and another at Mkuza Primary School (20 million shillings), ensuring better educational opportunities.
  • The construction of a ward office (24.5 million shillings), improving local governance.

Furthermore, the team inspected the ongoing construction of the district hospital, a collaborative effort between the government and the Municipal Council, with a budget of 706.7 million shillings. The government is also providing 300 million shillings worth of medical equipment.

The residents of Picha ya Ndege Ward have shown their appreciation for the government’s and council’s efforts, recognizing the positive impact on their daily lives. They have pledged their continued support for ongoing development initiatives. Is this level of community involvement and financial commitment the key to sustainable development?
